Share your quality improvement work in Accra
The Ghana Patient Safety Forum 2026 invites researchers, clinicians, trainees and patient advocates to submit abstracts on quality improvement and patient safety projects. Accepted work will be presented at the Forum on 17 September 2026, placing local improvement alongside national and global conversation.
Submissions should align with any patient safety and healthcare quality improvement initiatives. Alignment with one of the three Forum tracks below is highly encouraged. Each track combines keynote insight, lived experience and hands-on workshops so delegates leave with something they can use on Monday morning.
Human Factors Ergonomics
Designing systems, tools, and environments that work with — not against — human limitations. From medication labelling to theatre layout, reducing error by design rather than relying on vigilance alone.
Patient & Family Co-production
Patients and families as partners in safe care — not passive recipients. Voice in decisions, honest disclosure after harm, and building a just culture where lived experience shapes improvement.
Patient Safety through Effective Teamwork
How teams communicate, coordinate, and recover from error. Briefings, debriefs, speak-up culture, and shared mental models that turn a group of clinicians into a reliable safety system.
Submissions are invited from healthcare professionals, trainees, students, researchers and patient advocates working on quality improvement and patient safety projects relevant to Ghana or the wider African context.
Abstracts should describe a completed or well-advanced quality improvement project. Pure research study designs are welcome where they directly inform safer care.
Each abstract must include: title; authors and affiliations; background and rationale; methods or approach; results; and conclusions or implications for practice.
The abstract body (excluding title, authors and affiliations) must not exceed 300 words. Tables and figures are not accepted within the abstract text.
All accepted abstracts will be considered for either an oral presentation or a poster in the student poster session. The scientific committee will allocate the presentation format.
